When a tooth is cracked, heavily filled, or missing entirely, crowns and bridges are two of the most reliable ways to restore both function and appearance. They have been trusted for decades and, with modern materials, they look better than ever.
Our goal is a restoration that quietly blends in with the rest of your smile and holds up for years.
What it is
A dental crown is a custom-made cap that covers a weakened tooth to protect it and restore its shape. A bridge uses crowns on the healthy teeth on either side of a gap to hold a replacement tooth firmly in place.
Both are made from tooth-colored porcelain or high-strength ceramic and are shade- matched to your existing teeth so they do not stand out.
Who it helps
A crown is usually the right answer for a tooth that has cracked, broken, had a large filling fail, or just finished root canal treatment. A bridge is a fixed option when you are missing one or a few teeth in a row and want a non-removable solution without implant surgery.
The process
What to expect
- 1
Preparation and impressions
We gently shape the tooth (or teeth) that will support the restoration and take a precise impression or digital scan for the lab.
- 2
Temporary crown
You wear a natural-looking temporary while your custom crown or bridge is crafted. This protects the tooth and keeps your bite comfortable.
- 3
Final placement
At your second visit we check the fit, color, and bite, then bond your final restoration securely into place.
Benefits you can feel
- Restores strength to cracked or heavily filled teeth
- Closes visible gaps without removable hardware
- Custom-shaded to blend with your natural teeth
- Protects teeth after root canal treatment
- Improves bite balance and chewing comfort
- Long-lasting: many crowns and bridges serve well for ten to fifteen years or more
“I had a broken molar for years and finally got a crown. The color is spot on. Even I forget which tooth it is.”
Questions
Frequently asked
Will a crown look like a fake tooth?
No. Modern ceramic crowns reflect light like natural enamel and are shaded to match your neighboring teeth.
Is the procedure painful?
Preparing a tooth is done under local anesthetic and feels much like a routine filling. Any mild sensitivity afterward fades quickly.
How do I care for a crown or bridge?
Brush and floss normally. For a bridge, we will show you how to clean under the replacement tooth so the surrounding gums stay healthy.
Is an implant a better option than a bridge?
For a single missing tooth, implants are usually the most conservative long-term choice because they do not rely on neighboring teeth. A bridge is often faster and can be a better fit for certain cases. We will help you decide.
Will insurance cover crowns and bridges?
Most PPO plans cover a portion. We file for you, provide an estimate up front, and offer financing so nothing is a surprise.
